"Bought this refrigerator not quite two years ago. A little more than a year after purchase one of the interior plastic doors broke. Had it replaced (at our own cost). New replacement door does not work properly. Every time we slide it open, it pops off. Now, the freezer door handle has come off. Went to order another and that set us back $130.00. We also purchased a countertop stove and had the knobs melt on us. A few months after buying our double ovens, one of the internal parts broke and had to be replaced. All in all we have to say that we are less than satisfied with the quality of the Kenmore products we purchased. So, for anyone considering buying any Kenmore appliance please, please think twice. At least the Kenmore Elite series anyway."

"We purchased this refrigerator a week ago and are really satisfied. First of all, I loved working with Sears on delivery and installation. They did a fabulous job getting the refrigerator through some narrow doorways into our kitchen. They also were very prompt in their delivery service and notified us beforehand with their time of delivery estimate. We really like our new refrigerator. It has plenty of space for our family of 7. Pros: It runs very quietly. I love the door alarm feature since I have small children who don't always close the door all the way. I like the varying humidity drawers as well and they do seem to keep my veggies and fruit fresh longer. I also like the microban pull out bin for keeping fresh fruit on hand for the kids. The only con is that I have found that the bottom drawer freezer didn't hold as much as my old top freezer model. Overall, I love how this refrigerator helps me to organize my foods and keep them fresh."

"We loved it, but it only lasted 4 years. I bought Kenmore to get quality and paid a lot. now I have a large silver paper weight. I bought a matching elite dishwasher, it has broken 3 times in 4 years. the oven and microwave are still going but for how long? I can not afford to waste $2000.00 on appliances that only last 4 years."

"At first, we were a bit disappointed. It wasn't as big inside as it looked. Once we figured out how to arrange things, it is really very large. The sliding freezer drawer stores much more than we thought it could. It is ideal for meat & fish. The ice-maker bin is a little too large, so a few sealed frozen items can be tucked into the front. The fridge can be configured any way you want. We made a door shelf for each category: sauces, condiments, jellys/sweets, & salad dressings. And still have 2 large ones to use for water jugs/misc & wines/sodas. We love the shelf that can be used as a full shelf, or slid back into a 1/2 shelf. The vegetable bins & lunch meat bin are all a nice size. Play with it & move the shelves to suit your needs! Because of the large amount of storage in the doors, things tend to not get pushed to the back & forgotten as with our old fridge. It also runs very quietly"

"Fridge doors dont close on their own, they require a shove...annoying. The switch that turns off the light (when doors close) failed and heated up the frisge all night. Got so hot in there the plastic shroud warped and doesn't fil to we have bare bulbs showing. The drawer latched broke. The inside plastic walls cracked in less than two years in multiple places. Kenmore appliances feel cheap and flimsy... and apparently they actually are. My advice: Spend a few extra $ and get a quality Whirlpool or or spend $$$ for the Kenmore extended warranty, you'll need it!"

Reliable but storm almost cost me,March 11, 2009

"We have owned this for just over 5 years. Fearing the worst after realizing the extended warranty was up we called an independent repair man. Lucky for us we found an honest repairman! After reading many online reviews of similar repair situations we thought we’d be spending big bucks for a compressor. Turned out the recent ice storm caused a power surge that damaged a switch, less than $150 and a quick repair job later, JUST like new! Turns out our repair guy told us many less than honest repairmen up-charge the repair for compressors that really aren’t needed."

"We were in need of a fridge fast as the one that was here 5 years ago when we moved in- died. I had liked the look of the French door fridge and was hesitant to spend a lot. We have had this fridge for 4 months and it is SUPER!! Everything is easy to see and right in front of you. I find I can fit quite a lot of food in the freezer drawer - more than I thought. The ice maker is great -no problems with it here. Glad we bought it!"

"This Kenmore Elite refrigerator is beautiful. Unlike many units, it sports not only a setpoint digital temperature display inside the refrigerator, but presents the ACTUAL temperature of both freezer, and refrig so you can monitor it's performance each time you open the door. An internal fan pulls air from the cooling coils in the freezer section below and pumps the air up to the refrig section keeping food at a steady temp, even if the compressor has shut down from cooling the freezer to desired temp. I believe it's an outstanding value built to last. The unit is built by Amana for Kenmore. Needless to say, you have an excellent product. Kids can reach the ice in the lower drawer freezer, and bottled water can be placed on the lower shelf of the refrigerator. This is a solid, efficent, quiet refrigerator, and priced to sell. I believe you will be happy with this product."

"We just replaces our side by side with this model,thinking we would have better use of refigerator space. Turned out we had less room, the door shelves could only fit one gallon jug in each, the crisper drawers were smaller then the side by side and the fresh and ready bin is a waste of space. Not impressed with the freezer set up either."

"we had an amana with the bottom freezer before and decided to stick with the same brand. the only reason we got a new fridge was because we didn't know how old the other one was (came with the house been here 12 years) and the molding around the freezer was coming apart. one thing I didn't realize before is with the pull out freezer door you loose the storage you had on the door. and I also ordered it without an ice maker but when it was delivered i had an ice maker that we will never use. the salesman swore up and down I was not getting an ice maker but i guess he was wrong so we lost that room in the freezer also. other than that I love it. love the french doors and the deli storage. plenty of room in the fridge!!"

Unfortunate Situation That Turned Out Good,July 29, 2008

"I recently purchased an refrigerator from Sears. Unfortunately, when the refrigerator was delivered, it did not work.
I contacted their Customer Service Department early the next day. The Customer Service Reps that I unfortunately had the pleasure of dealing with, appeared to not really want to assist me in my desperate time of need.
I then promply contact the store directly and spoke with the Manager. He invited me to come back into the store and pick out another refrigerator.
Unfortunately I did not find the same refrigerator that I had originally purchased.
I instead received a Kenmore Elite Trio.
I LOVE THIS REFRIGERATOR!!!
My kids and I had a good time trying to figure out all the features this product offered.
Overall, the service I received from the 800 line was unsatisfactory. However, the Manager of the store assisted me as much as he could and I am satisfied with this product.
They also paid for my delivery charge which came to me the same day.
The Sears store really helped me out in my time of need when I really needed it.
