"We purchased this in Jan 2008 and after 1 year, no issues with performance. Adjustable drawers in the doors are very sturdy. Big PLUS is the water dispenser on the inside doesn't take up room in the over all capacity of the fridge. Easy cleaning (2 teenages open & close the doors constantly, so the doors always have hand prints on them to remove ). More than adequate freezer section, although those with bad backs, would not care for the body movement to get the ice out of the automatic ice-maker. Layout for specific drawers ( such as cheese, meats, etc...) are great for organization. As well as their temp control for those items. The large pull out tray can accomodate various tupperware left overs and the occasional pizza boxes. We keep our temp control on 6 of 7 and find it doesn't over refridgerate items. The stainless steel front is great, but if you have this appliance in a location that will be seen from all sides, you will want to consider the sides are a black color. ( ps, only the sides will hold magnets, keeps your front fridge view very uncluttered )"

"We bought this fridge about 8 months ago. We love the space, the glass shelves, and the style. What we really love is not only the fact that we no longer have randomly frozen items in the fridge like our last fridge caused (especially produce), but that it seems items kept in the crisper drawers last longer. It does seem a might noisey at times, but nothing that wakes me up at night when I fall asleep on the couch by the kitchen."

Good, but little things could make it great,October 23, 2008

"We bought this Amana two months ago. Our food keeps very well in it, which is THE reason you buy one of these things. In that regard it out performs all other refrigerators we've owned. The fruit and vegetable drawers actually do what they are supposed to do, a first for any refrigerator we've owned. I like the bottom freezer as it accomodates a greater variety of shapes and sizes than the tall narrow freezer with many shelves our previous side-by-side had. But-- several little design errors that greatly reduce storage capacity could be cheaply corrected to make this an unqualified five star product. First, the door bins have rims that are about one inch wide and the corners are severley rounded. The result is that the door bins hold much less than they should. I saw this on several other types in the stores, so the problem is not unique to this model. This is a really stupid design, perhaps compensating for rigidity and strength, but the materials appear strong enough to not need this. Likewise, the metal supports brackets for the glass shelves are very large and intrusive and compromise space. I can think of several cheap alternatives off the top of my head. This is an easy fix if the manufacturer cared about the customer experience enough to do it. As someone else mentioned in a review of this product I saw online, it was immediately apparent that we had to remove one shelf if we were to consider having large items in the refrigerator. I suspect 80 percent of the owners do the same, so that is another stupid design factor. The last space compromiser is the large electronic controls display and light housing in the top at the front. It blocks placing items on the top shelf and I have to reach around it to use that space. Beyond these simple design changes, there is one other issue that has us concerned. There is a strange knocking sound that occurs about every other time the compressor kicks on. It knocks about ten times in a seven to eight second period, sounding like someone was inside rapping their knuckle on the door. I was considering making a service call in case this was leading to a failure of some type. But when reading over the manual, it cites that "modern" refrigerators "may" make noises you are not familiar with. They list about six types of sounds and tell you not to worry about them. I don't think the sound I hear is described by their warnings, so I may yet call for service. Overall, I am very pleased with the refrigerator, just annoyed by the inconsiderate loss of space due to design errors."

""we had an amana with the bottom freezer before and decided to stick with the same brand. the only reason we got a new fridge was because we didn't know how old the other one was (came with the house been here 12 years) and the molding around the freezer was coming apart. one thing I didn't realize before is with the pull out freezer door you loose the storage you had on the door. and I also ordered it without an ice maker but when it was delivered i had an ice maker that we will never use. the salesman swore up and down I was not getting an ice maker but i guess he was wrong so we lost that room in the freezer also. other than that I love it. love the french doors and the deli storage. plenty of room in the fridge!!""

"• Issue 2: Crisper problem- food was freezing. Solution: new fan motor. Solution did not work. • Issue 3: Crisper same problem- Tech’s solution: placement of foam over a cold air vent. This did not solve the problem. • Issue 4: Crisper same problem-Suggested solution replace computer board. Waiting for part. • Issue 5: Crisper same problem-New tech said it was not the computer board and ordered more parts. • Issue 6: parts came and installed by the tech. It seems the parts did not solve the problem and the engineers told him to seal off the flow of air into the crisper with gray installation foam. This seemed contrary to the operation manual, which states the crisper drawer, needs humidity to help preserve the food. In addition, vegetables are still freezing in the crisper. Besides not being functional, or part of the original design of the refrigerator by Amana, we find the gray foam aesthetically unacceptable. This is not an appropriate solution. The foam did not prevent the freezing in the crisper. • Issue 7: Crisper same problem-Tech returned and readjusted the thermostatic computer board. He said this may not be the answer and ordered a new computer board and another part. • .Issue 8: On June 20th I called customer service and told them I was not happy with the service results. They transferred the call to the person in charge of Service Ms. Cakia. I told her my dissatisfaction with the refrigerator. I asked if they would replace the unit. She said we did not have sufficient parts installed. I asked her about the six visits. She said the installation of foam on two occasions were not parts. I asked if they were not parts to remove the unsightly gray foam. She became belligerent and told me to remove the frozen food and a tech would come with parts July 3rd. She also stated that the crispers were not an integral part of the refrigerator."

"We are all so happy with the purchase of this refrigerator. It is so quite (even the ice maker) and it (refrigerator and freezer) has tons of room. I LOVE the pull out shelves and I also LOVE the little plastice blue liner things for the stuff in the doors so they dont clank around. This makes any mess VERY easy to clean too. I love the bottom mount freezer. My mom suggested one years ago and I am SOOOOO glad I got one!!!The delivery guys we fairly friendly (one more than the other-he wasn't much a of talker that's all) and helped us with suggestions about our ice maker hookup. They were very considerate of my new carpet I just got and stayed on the plastic I had layed out for them. Oh, and they got here earlier than I thought and were kind enough to call first to make sure it was ok to deliver. Sales woman was great too. I told her what I was looking for and how much was my limit and she was very happy tell help me without trying to make me feel like I should spend more. So glad I got this one because there was no reason to spend more to get a refrigerator because I dont see me liking anything any better than this model!!! SO HAPPY with our purchase...you will be too!!!"

"The wife and I replaced our 21 year old Amana(which still runs great in the garage) with this new Amana. I had researched all brands and styles and decided this one was the best for what features we wanted (no water dispenser), and I was right! Everything works great and there is a lot of room to store everything. We like most is the fridge part is at eye level and not having to stoop over to get items in the back of the lower shelf, which slides out to make it even easier. We bought it at the Burlington store and had it delivered, and all the Sears employees, from the salesperson to the delivery men were of great help and did a great job! I would recommend this refrigerator to everyone."

"Our Amana celebrated its first anniversary last week, and it has performed perfectly. It's well-lighted, there's room to store a lot of food, the shelves are versatile, it's easy to clean, it always maintains even temperature, it's quiet, and I don't think we could ask for any more. One of my friends has a very expensive cabinet-depth built-in, and she envies me my refrigerator!"

"This refrigerator is the best. By far the most expensive appliance in my home, but well worth every penny. It's quiet and very spacious. The deli drawer is great. I love the slide out shelves and the fact that they are easy to remove. I can store a 3 tier wedding cake easily in this refrigerator. The sales associates at the East Ellijay, GA Sears are the BEST!! They are extremely knowledgeable and helped with every question I had. Very pleased customer! Recommended to everyone."

"I'm coming up on a year with this fridge and so far no problems. Occassionaly someone doesn't get the door shut completely, and that causes me concern, but I have never lost any food over it - maybe I have always seen it promptly. Seems to be lots of usable room and the slide out shelves help a lot to get at stuff in the back. I wish the crispers were a little more heavy duty, but the big deli drawer seems to be working great. This is the best fridge I have ever had. Probably the most expensive too, but I think it was worth it! I am pleased every time I open it."
