"Bought this set to deal with a rusted bolt holding a lawn mower blade to an engine shaft. Worked like a charm! Wish I had known about these things about ten years ago! Great addition to anyone's toolbox."
best things ever,May 28, 2009

"These things got out a stripped socket head cap screw in my motorcycle motor. Then weeks later I used them to remove broken rusted brake line fittings on my car.
Just put them over your rounded off nut, tap on with the hammer, turn with ratchet.. boom.. out it comes.
One of the few craftsman things I am proud to own.
"I tried the Grip-Tite socket, but it broke on my first try. I got the Bolt-Out because it was built more solidly, however it was unable to grip the rounded bolt. The bolt was originally 15mm, but after being rounded fairly heavily none of the Bolt-Out sockets would fit. On top of that, Bolt-Out does not work with a socket wrench and each one requires a different size wrench - which requires a larger tool set than I have. And unless you have extra long wrenches you won't get very good leverage."

"My friend's car broke down in the middle of nowhere. We had to remove the bearing on the rear axle, and of course, 3 bolts came out- one was stuck and rounded off. We tried every tool we had and nothing worked. We drove to town and got my dad's damaged bolt remover set and we had the final bolt out in minutes. I was amazed at how well it worked! A set should be in everyone's toolbox."
"Did not work for what i needed.. it fit right over the nut but it would not stay on it well enough to cut into the nut.. I even gave it a taparoo with a tack hammer to make sure it was on but it still would grip.. I can see how this could work but it didn't..."

"I stripped the bolt for my oil drain with a cheap socket and used this kit to remove the drain plug so I could replace it. This saved me alot of time even though I had to drive to Sears to buy it, I now have it for the future."
