Piece of garbage, May 16, 2009
By MrFixItJr from Michigan

"Don't waste your money. This tool DOES NOT WORK! I've tried it several times and all it does is make an indentation in the screw head. I'll be throwing my set in the garbage as all it does is take up room in my tool chest. On second thought, I may give it as a white elephant gift during the Holidays. I would have given it a "0" star rating, but the system does not allow it. Complete waste of money."

Waste of time, May 4, 2009
By tollbooth from South Park, PA

"You'd have better luck with a paperclip. Biggest waste of money I ever spent. Not only didn't this thing extract the screw, it didn't even bite into the screw enough to even feel any drag whatsoever during use.

I even tried drilling a hole into the center of the screw, even though the directions didn't say that was necessary. No wonder, it didn't help.

AWFUL!, March 1, 2009
By NewLawnGuy from Salisbury, Maryland

"I bought this set when I stripped the head of a screw that was holding a bike rack to the wall of my garage. That was 2 years ago, and the rack is still on the wall.

I've tried it twice more since then, and it has never removed a damaged screw of any kind.

Don't waste your money.

Useless, January 1, 2009
By yelknib from Lakewood,Ca

"This set does nothing that it claims to!! I am a service tech by trade and often have screws that strip out. This tool has never worked as they claim. Maybe this only works on brass screws that are in wood but it will not work on stainless screws that are used for mechanical applications."

"First time I used this product it snapped in two. Took back to sears and found out this is not a lifetime warranty product. Save your money and get something else."

Worked For Me (Large & Small screws), October 19, 2008
By jkdsfo from San Francisco, CA

"This $20 solution worked well for me in two very different situations: The first was a stripped flathead screw holding a 150lb piece of equipment into a 19" rack. This Damaged Screw Remover, used with a cordless drill set on Counter-Clockwise and High Torque backed the screw out of the rack in under a minute. The second was a TINY stripped Phillips head screw holding a laptop disk drive to a mounting plate. The screw remover backed the tiny screw out in a couple of seconds. Having seen a negative review or two here - Be SURE that you use an electric screwdriver/drill set for CCW rotation with this tool."

Great Tool, April 10, 2008
By CEDPittsburgh from Pittsburgh Pa

"After trying to remove a very small worn out Phillips screw with about 15 different screwdrivers I came to this tool. I needed to remove this screw to repair a Motherboard in a Laptop, very small screws. Not realizing that you need a power screwdriver I tried to manually remove the screw. After reading the instructions I used my power screw driver the screw was out in seconds. Motherboard was repaired and laptop is back to work."

SOOOO disappointed, February 3, 2008
By robert1050 from Metro Atlanta

"I bought these screw outs around a year ago, I had seen the commercial and it looked like a good product, I just had the opportunity to use it and it was worthless!! My neighbor let me borrow an impact version of Snap on and it work well!
20 bucks down the drain for this Craftman product.

Awesome, January 9, 2008
By Jeff430 from Moscow, ID

"I just got a chance to use this product and it has already paid for itself. I had to remove rusted, stripped, 20+ year old screws out of a vehicle and this product worked perfectly. Would recommend it to everyone."

Wish I had my money back, December 23, 2007
By mechanic2 from South Dakota

"Lifetime Craftsman owner deeply disappointed. The commercial made this look like a lifesaver, but this is worthless. May be okay for a screw in wood, but no good for anything in metal. Just made the problem worse. Save your money and buy a good quality EasyOut set."

"It may work if you are attempting to remove something soft like a brass screw out of wood, but it is useless on a hard screw in metal. It takes nice shavings off the inside of the screw, that's about it."

"After spending hours and wasting drill bits, this product came to my rescue. I used the smallest bit to remove the stud left over from the broken roof antenna of my girlfriend's car. It is quite easy to use if you follow the instructions. It does what it promises efficiently. A must have for the home mechanic."
