Quality - Affordability,July 23, 2009
By mobilmechanicfrom Illinois
"This high quality tool package is well organized in a nice carrying case. The tool selection would be great at everyday prices, but on sale unbeatable. I've put it to use many times since I bought it and find it easy to locate the right size socket or wrench for the job. The only draw back to this tool set is that a pair of lineman pliers or ajustable box wrench would have made a great companion to the set."

A must have in the arsenal,July 21, 2009
By AlmostaProfrom Houston, TX
"This set has pretty much everything you need to handle light to moderate jobs from home to automotive. Honestly I have not owned a more versatile set, open end wrenches to the screw driver bits.
The only con to this set that I have ran into is the lack of larger sized socket pieces, it could use 20,21,22mm sockets and 13/16,15/16,1" but other than that you cant beat this box for the price, especially when on sale."

Very Good Set,June 24, 2009
By Alltomfrom Alma, MI
"This set has most everything that i use on a regular basis, and i like that it comes with both the 6 & 12 pt socket and regular as well as deep well sockets, the socket wrenches did however leave a little to be desired, they are not one of the better wrenches that craftsman offers"

Very nice Set.,May 4, 2009
By JohnDfrom Brockton, MA
"I already had a smaller 25yr old Craftsman set that had been great with the exception of the case. My old case had cheap flap hinges that broke after a few years so It was pain to carry it without the sockets getting all mixed up. I wanted a new tool case that I could move from the garage, to my truck, to a job site easily. The case on this new set is FANTASTIC! It has real hinges and closures that are well made. With all tools in their own individual locations searching for tools is QUICK, no more searching through piles of loose sockets. The molded case is very accurate and secures both the top and bottom sockets so nothing will get out of place even if the case is tipped over and bounced around. It also has a decent storage area for additional tools so you don't need to carry another tool box. (2 thumbs up).
This is a top notch set which I highly recommend especially if you get it on sale. The only negative thing is the case is large because of the amount of tools it has along with the additional built in storage area. If your looking for a set to store in a vehicle you will need to measure it 1st to ensure it will fit."

A great buy!,March 13, 2009
By fantasygirlfrom Keyport, NJ
"I just bought this set and was really impressed with it. There are A LOT of sockets. It's got a wide variety of tools. The carry case is great. I thought the tools would fall out when it was carried. But I picked it up and shook it and nothing was out of place when I opened it. The only thing it could use is more wrenches. And more extensions since there is only one 3 inch one."

Excellent Bang for the Buck,February 9, 2009
By TMillfrom Chicago
"I picked up this set at Sears this past holiday season on sale for $99.99. As an aspiring back yard mechanic this is a great place to start. I particularly appreciate all of the six point sockets. For the money you can't beat it. Be aware that this set comes with a changeable end screw driver and several bits, as well as standard and metric Allen wrenches; these take up about 40 or 50 of the pieces in the set, but for a hundred bucks, you cannot beat it. I definitely recommend it!"

Where are the ratchet extensions?,January 12, 2009
By AZguyfrom Southern AZ
"Great set of wrenches - all sizes and shapes you could imagine. Only thing that would make this set BETTER is if they included a 1/4" and a 1/2" ratchet extension. You do have a 1/4" screwdriver-type driver, but there are certainly occasions when these 2 additional extensions will be needed. They should be in this set to make it PERFECT !!"

Great Tool Set!,January 11, 2009
By tharry8from Mobile, AL
"I bought this set for my son for Christmas. He is interested in working on cars and this set has just about everything he needs. It is high quality Craftsman all the way. The carrying case is pretty good, but it is easy to have the tools fall out of their holding places. But, for the price, a great set! I have a much smaller set I purchased about 20 years ago. The socket drive broke this summer, and when I went to Sears to replace it, they gave me a new one with no questions asked. For hand tools, Craftsman is excellent!"

Great value but lacking key elements,December 28, 2008
By FirefighterDavefrom Chicago, IL
"This is my first large quantity socket set. Its only for home use so it has just about everything I need. However I do agree it would be nice to eliminate some of the redundent sockets and get more misc extentions, elbows, and adapters."

"The set is a great value but to second the first post the set has too many sockets that repeat, not enough wrenches and the sockets aren't as big as other sets. I bought this to replace an old 168pc set, but when i looked at the two side by side the 168pc set has spark plug sockets, bigger sockets, more deep well 3/8" sockets, a longer 3/8" socket wrench, and more combo wrenches. I love the case that it comes in considering my old kit everything would fall out. This is a great set for a body shop mechanic but not a car mechanic."

unbalanced assortment,December 19, 2008
By grandlfrom Rural Northern Calif.
"At $99 this is a great deal, and it s nice to have a case to hold each piece in its own location. However, there are too many sockets (there are seven (!) 1/2" sockets) and not enough wrenches (15 mm and 9/16" maximum size). There is only one, short 3/8" socket extension for the whole set. I would have reduced the number of redundant sockets, and added more larger wrenches, socket extensions, and miscellaneous adapters."
